1 Day - Maras Moray Half Day
9:15 AM – Hotel Pickup in Cusco
We begin the experience with pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
Our journey takes us through beautiful Andean landscapes toward the Sacred Valley region.
Maras
Our first destination is the traditional town of Maras, located approximately 3,300 meters / 10,827 feet above sea level.
The town preserves elements of its colonial history and offers beautiful views toward the surrounding mountains and the Sacred Valley.
Your guide will introduce you to the history of Maras and its importance as a connection point between local communities and the surrounding agricultural areas.
Moray Archaeological Site
We continue toward Moray, one of the most unusual archaeological sites in the Cusco region.
Moray consists of enormous circular terraces built at different levels, creating a remarkable landscape.
Your professional guide will explain the theories surrounding the site’s use and its relationship with Inca agriculture, crop adaptation and different microclimatic conditions.
The design and location of Moray make it one of the most photogenic archaeological attractions near Cusco.
Maras Salt Mines
Our next destination is the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, also known as the Salineras de Maras.
Thousands of small salt pools cover the mountainside, creating one of the most distinctive landscapes in the Sacred Valley.
Salt-rich water flows through a network of channels into the individual pools, where evaporation gradually leaves behind salt crystals.
Local families have maintained this traditional activity for generations.
You will have time to enjoy the panoramic views, learn about the salt-production process and take photographs.

After visiting the Maras Salt Mines, we begin our journey back to Cusco.
