1 Day - Humantay Lake
Early Morning – Hotel Pickup in Cusco
Your adventure begins with an early morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco.
We will travel by tourist transportation through the beautiful Andean countryside toward Mollepata.
Along the way, enjoy views of valleys, traditional villages, agricultural landscapes and the impressive mountains surrounding the region.
Breakfast in Mollepata
Upon arrival in Mollepata, we will enjoy a delicious breakfast before continuing our journey.
This is the perfect opportunity to recharge your energy and prepare for the trek ahead.
Mollepata – Soraypampa
After breakfast, we continue by vehicle toward Soraypampa, the starting point of our hike to Humantay Lake.
The scenery becomes increasingly dramatic as we approach the high Andes, with spectacular views of snow-capped mountains and glacial landscapes.
Trek to Humantay Lake
From Soraypampa, we begin our hike toward Humantay Lake.
The ascent usually takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on your pace and physical condition.
The trail offers magnificent views of the surrounding mountains, valleys and high-Andean vegetation.
Because of the altitude, we will walk at a comfortable pace and make stops whenever necessary.
Humantay Lake
Upon reaching approximately 4,200 meters / 13,780 feet above sea level, we arrive at the breathtaking Humantay Lake.
Its striking turquoise waters lie beneath the imposing Humantay Glacier, creating one of the most impressive natural landscapes in Peru.
Your guide will explain the natural and cultural importance of this beautiful high-Andean environment.
You will have time to enjoy the scenery, take photographs and experience the peaceful atmosphere surrounding the lake.
Return to Soraypampa
After enjoying Humantay Lake, we begin our descent back to Soraypampa.
The downhill walk allows you to appreciate the surrounding landscapes from a different perspective.
Our transportation will be waiting for us at the end of the trek.
Lunch
After completing the hike, we will enjoy a well-deserved lunch featuring local and Peruvian dishes.
Take some time to relax before beginning the journey back to Cusco.
Approximately 5:00 PM – Return to Cusco
After lunch, we will board our transportation and return to Cusco.
Arrival is expected in the late afternoon, completing an unforgettable day surrounded by the natural beauty of the Peruvian Andes.
