Experience the essential highlights of the Cusco region on this carefully paced 5-day journey through Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu.

Unlike shorter packages, this itinerary gives travelers more time to acclimatize, explore Cusco, discover the Sacred Valley and spend a night in Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo before visiting Machu Picchu.

The original program includes airport arrival assistance, Cusco’s principal archaeological attractions, Pisaq, Ollantaytambo, Chinchero, train travel and a guided visit to Machu Picchu.

Day 1: Arrival in Cusco – Cusco City Tour

Upon arrival at Cusco Airport, our team will welcome you and transfer you to your hotel.

You will have the morning available to rest and acclimatize to Cusco’s altitude.

In the afternoon, begin your Cusco City Tour, visiting some of the city’s most important cultural and archaeological attractions:

Cusco Cathedral
Qoricancha – Temple of the Sun
Sacsayhuaman
Qenqo
Puka Pukara
Tambomachay

The original itinerary schedules the end of the tour at approximately 6:30 PM.

Overnight: Cusco

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas

After breakfast, depart at approximately 8:15 AM for a full-day excursion through the Sacred Valley of the Incas.

Pisaq

Visit the traditional town and artisan market of Pisaq, followed by the archaeological attractions of the area.

Urubamba

Continue through the Sacred Valley toward Urubamba, surrounded by spectacular Andean scenery.

Ollantaytambo

Explore the historic Inca town of Ollantaytambo, famous for its monumental stonework, terraces and remarkably preserved urban layout.

Chinchero

Complete the day with a visit to Chinchero, known for its Andean traditions, textiles and archaeological heritage.

Return to Cusco in the early evening.

Day 3: Cusco – Aguas Calientes

After an early breakfast, transfer to the train station for your journey toward Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo.

The train journey takes you through the dramatic landscapes of the Sacred Valley and toward the cloud forest surrounding Machu Picchu. The legacy itinerary leaves the afternoon free after arrival.

After checking into your hotel, enjoy the remainder of the day at your own pace.

You may explore Aguas Calientes, relax before the following day’s Machu Picchu visit, or enjoy optional local activities.

Day 4: Machu Picchu – Return to Cusco

Your guide will meet you at your hotel before traveling by bus to Machu Picchu.

Enjoy an approximately 2-hour professionally guided visit through the circuit assigned to your entrance ticket.

During your visit, learn about:

Ceremonial spaces
Temples
Residential areas
Engineering techniques
Andean beliefs
The historical importance of Machu Picchu

After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes.

At the scheduled time, board the train toward Ollantaytambo and continue by tourist transportation back to Cusco.

Day 5: Cusco – Airport Transfer

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel and transfer you to Cusco Airport according to your flight schedule. The original program concludes with breakfast and airport transportation.
