1 Day - Ausangate 7 Lakes

Early Morning – Cusco to Pacchanta

Your adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco.

We will travel by private transportation through the spectacular southern Andes toward the community of Pacchanta, located in the Ausangate region.

Along the way, you will enjoy beautiful views of traditional Andean villages, agricultural landscapes and high mountains.


Traditional Andean Breakfast

Upon arrival in Pacchanta, a local family will welcome us with a nutritious Andean breakfast.

Your professional guide will provide information about the trek, altitude and safety recommendations before beginning the hike.


Trek to the Seven Lakes of Ausangate

We begin our trek through one of the most beautiful sections of the Ausangate mountain region.

During the circuit, we will encounter a succession of spectacular high-altitude lakes displaying different shades of turquoise, green and blue.

The trail takes us through dramatic puna landscapes surrounded by glaciers, rocky mountains and wetlands.

Along the way, you may encounter alpacas and llamas grazing freely, as well as native high-Andean flora and birdlife.


Ausangate Mountain Views

Throughout the trek, the imposing Ausangate massif dominates the landscape.

Return to Pacchanta

After the trek, you will have the opportunity to relax in the Pacchanta Hot Springs.

Surrounded by magnificent Andean scenery, the thermal pools are the perfect way to rest your muscles after several hours of high-altitude hiking.

Take time to relax, enjoy the mountain atmosphere and appreciate the views before beginning the return journey.


Return to Cusco

After our experience in Pacchanta, we board our private transportation for the journey back to Cusco.

Arrival is expected in the evening.

How difficult is the Ausangate 7 Lakes Trek?

The trek is considered challenging, mainly because of the high altitude and the approximately 15 km hiking distance.

Good physical condition is recommended.

The Seven Lakes circuit reaches high-altitude sectors of approximately 4,756 meters / 15,604 feet above sea level.

Yes. We strongly recommend spending at least 2 to 3 days in Cusco or another high-altitude destination before taking this tour.

Yes. After completing the trek, you will have time to enjoy the Pacchanta Hot Springs before returning to Cusco.
