Cusco City Tour – Half Day

We begin our tour in Cusco’s historic center, near the Plaza de Armas.

Our first visit is the impressive Cusco Cathedral, one of the city’s most important colonial monuments.

Inside, you will discover religious artwork, impressive altars and paintings associated with the famous Cusco School of Art.

Your guide will explain the relationship between Andean traditions and the religious art introduced during the colonial period.

Qoricancha – Temple of the Sun

After visiting the Cathedral, we will take a short walk to Qoricancha, one of the most important temples of the Inca Empire.

Known as the Temple of the Sun, Qoricancha was once one of the most sacred religious centers in Tawantinsuyu.

Today, visitors can appreciate the extraordinary precision of Inca stonework alongside the colonial architecture of the Santo Domingo complex.

Your guide will explain the site’s religious significance, architecture and fascinating history.

Sacsayhuaman

We will continue by tourist transportation toward Sacsayhuaman, located in the hills above Cusco.

This monumental archaeological complex is famous for its enormous stone walls, some constructed with massive blocks fitted together with extraordinary precision.

From Sacsayhuaman, you can also enjoy beautiful panoramic views of Cusco.

Your guide will explain the site’s historical, ceremonial and strategic importance.

Qenqo

Our next stop is Qenqo, an intriguing ceremonial site featuring passages, carved rock formations and underground chambers.

The complex is believed to have been associated with important Inca religious ceremonies.

You will explore its unique stone structures while learning about the spiritual beliefs and rituals of the Inca civilization.

Puka Pukara

We then continue to Puka Pukara, commonly known as the Red Fortress.

Located along an ancient route into Cusco, this archaeological complex includes walls, terraces and structures believed to have served administrative, control and defensive functions.

Its elevated location provides excellent views of the surrounding Andean landscape.

Tambomachay

Our final archaeological stop is Tambomachay, famous for its beautifully engineered water channels and ceremonial fountains.

Water held profound spiritual importance in Andean culture, and Tambomachay demonstrates the extraordinary hydraulic engineering skills of the Incas.

Surrounded by mountains and high-altitude vegetation, it is a peaceful place to finish our archaeological exploration.

Approximately 6:30 PM – Return to Cusco

After visiting Tambomachay, we will return by tourist transportation to the historic center of Cusco.

The tour ends at approximately 6:30 PM, after an afternoon discovering some of the most important cultural and archaeological attractions of the ancient Inca capital.
