Day 1: Cusco – Chinchero – Moray – Maras – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes
Your adventure begins with morning pickup from your hotel in Cusco at approximately 8:00 AM.
We will travel toward the Sacred Valley and begin our exploration with the traditional Andean town of Chinchero.
Chinchero
Chinchero is known for its impressive mountain landscapes, archaeological remains and strong textile traditions.
During our visit, we will meet members of a local artisan community and learn about the traditional process used to transform alpaca and sheep wool into colorful Andean textiles.
You will discover techniques for washing, spinning, dyeing and weaving wool using methods passed down through generations.
Moray
Our next destination is Moray, one of the most unusual archaeological sites in the Cusco region.
The site consists of enormous circular terraces built at different levels.
Your guide will explain the theories surrounding Moray’s role in Inca agriculture and how different environmental conditions may have been used to experiment with crops and cultivation techniques.
The unique design of the terraces also makes Moray one of the most photogenic archaeological attractions in the Sacred Valley.
Maras Salt Mines
We continue toward the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, where thousands of small salt pools cover the side of a mountain.
Salt-rich water flows through a complex network of channels before entering the individual pools.
Local families have maintained the tradition of salt production in this area for generations.
The contrast between the white salt pools and the surrounding mountains creates one of the most distinctive landscapes in the Sacred Valley.
Sacred Valley & Ollantaytambo
After visiting Maras, we continue through the Sacred Valley toward Ollantaytambo.
Depending on the tour schedule, there will be time for lunch before visiting the archaeological complex.

Train to Aguas Calientes
After the guided visit to Ollantaytambo, we head to the train station.
We board the train for the scenic journey through the Urubamba Valley toward Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo.
The journey offers beautiful views as the landscape gradually changes from the Andean valley into lush cloud forest.
Upon arrival, hotel staff or our local representative will assist you with check-in.
Later, your guide will provide information about the following day’s visit to Machu Picchu.

After breakfast at your hotel, we will head to the bus station.
The bus ride from Aguas Calientes to the entrance of Machu Picchu takes approximately 30 minutes.

Upon arrival, we enter the archaeological sanctuary according to the circuit assigned to your entrance ticket.
Your professional guide will accompany you through Machu Picchu and explain its:
