1 Day - Vinicunca Rainbow

4:00 AM – Hotel Pickup in Cusco

Our adventure begins early in the morning with pickup from your hotel in Cusco.

We will travel south through traditional Andean villages and spectacular mountain landscapes toward the starting area of the Rainbow Mountain trek.

Breakfast in an Andean Community

Before beginning the hike, we will stop in a local community to enjoy a traditional breakfast.

This is also an opportunity to prepare for the high-altitude trek and receive final instructions from your guide.

9:00 AM – Begin the Trek to Rainbow Mountain

We arrive at the starting point and begin our hike toward Vinicunca Rainbow Mountain.

The route crosses beautiful high-altitude landscapes where you may see llamas, alpacas and local Quechua communities.

Your professional guide will explain the surrounding ecosystem, Andean culture and geological characteristics of the region.

The walking time varies according to your pace and the conditions of the day.

Approximately 11:00 AM – Rainbow Mountain Viewpoint

We reach the spectacular Rainbow Mountain viewpoint, located at approximately 5,036 meters / 16,522 feet above sea level.

Here you will have time to admire the extraordinary natural colors of Vinicunca and the dramatic mountain landscapes surrounding it.

On clear days, you can also enjoy impressive views toward the snow-capped Ausangate massif.

Your guide will explain how mineral deposits and geological processes created the mountain’s characteristic bands of color.

There will also be time for photographs and to enjoy the scenery.

12:00 PM – Return Trek

After enjoying Rainbow Mountain, we begin our hike back toward the starting point, where our transportation will be waiting.

Approximately 2:00 PM – Buffet Lunch

After completing the trek, we will stop for a well-deserved buffet lunch.

Relax and enjoy a selection of local and Peruvian dishes before beginning the journey back to Cusco.

Approximately 5:00 PM – Return to Cusco

We return to Cusco in the afternoon.

Arrival is expected at approximately 5:00 PM, marking the end of an unforgettable day exploring one of Peru’s most colorful natural landscapes.
